Air Conditioning

Supply and installation of Electrical and Air Conditioning to an existing 1912  sandstone building and a contemporary architecturally design extension. The existing building had very limited roof space whilst the extension was to have a flat roof.

“This was Bradwell Group 2nd renovation for us and they will be doing the third when we move on. Having one company manage the electrical and air conditioning was a huge benefit to us. We were kept informed during the whole process and we are very pleased with the result.”

Scope of Work

Supply and installation of Electrical and Air Conditioning to an existing 1912 sandstone building and a contemporary architecturally design extension. The existing building had very limited roof space whilst the extension was to have a flat roof.

The clients wanted much of the focus to be retained on its buildings beautiful sandstone features and have these areas highlighted.  This proved to be a challenging aspect of the renovation.

All external and internal existing buildings features needed to be retained when considering the installation needs of power, lights, audio, Foxtel, FTA TV and data points, air conditioning, garden lighting and in-floor heating.

Solution

Initially several meetings were held between Bradwell Group and the clients to determine four key elements of the renovation, being:

  1. Access to the physical building site during the renovation to install electrical and data cabling, ducting and in-floor heating
  2. Time frames allowed for installations
  3. Air-conditioning requirements
  4. Final agreement with the clients’ in respect to products to be used, the cabling schedule and routing and time frames required to complete project.

Electrical: In the existing dwelling, in-floor up-lights were installed to capture the beautiful sandstone walls as a main feature.

A 3 tier pendant over the staircase was installed upon the entry to the retreat upstairs. audio, Foxtel, FTA TV and data points to all areas was achieved to the delight of the clients.

The rear of the building was of a contemporary design and as such Clipsal stainless steel flush power points and light switches were selected to capture the décor and add a touch of class.

The clients were delighted with the floor heating to the main bathroom and en-suite

Garden lighting was installed around this property which enhanced the entertaining area and created a warm relaxed atmosphere for everybody to enjoy.

Air Conditioning: With restricted access to the flat roof cavity of the extension, a purpose solid ducted system needed to be designed, built and installed during construction of the frame.  By installing linear bar grilles and slot diffusers we were able to meet the clients’ needs without any compromise to air flow.
